Angel Investors Challenge Unveils 13 Participating Startups

On November 9th, the Angel  Investors Challenge unveiled the members of its 2011 cohort. The Angel  Investors Challenge is a training program, pitch competition and opportunity for  startups to get introduced to quality mentors and investors.

The startups participating in 2011 (in no particular order) include:

The teams have already received a first round of feedback on their business  plans by the Selection Committee and will now receive training on tightening up  their presentations and delivery. They will also get a chance to meet some of  Montréal’s most accomplished serial entrepreneurs to get feedback and  mentorship. The next major step for the teams is a dry run of their  presentations on November 23rd before small panels of local angels.

On December 1st, the companies will make their final pitches to a jury of  Anges Québec which will be followed by cocktail event during which the 2011  finalists will be announced. The three to four finalist teams will then get to  present to private meeting of Anges Québec members in the first quarter of 2012.  One of last year’s finalists, ModaSuite,  subsequently secured an investment from Anges Québec and Montréal-based Real  Ventures.

This is an exciting time for the cohort and the next few weeks will be  eventful to say the least. I wish the teams the best of luck and I am looking  forward to some great pitches on December 1st!
